MRSA is a type of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that is resistant to several antibiotics and can cause colonisation or infection.

How do I test for MRSA at home?

You can test for MRSA using an at-home PCR or culture swab kit that collects samples from the nose, groin, or armpit and sends them to a laboratory.

How long do MRSA test results take?

Rapid PCR MRSA tests provide results within hours after the lab receives your sample. Culture tests usually take up to 72 hours.

Three site MRSA screening offers the highest sensitivity. PCR tests provide faster results while culture tests follow traditional clinical methods.

Imagine arriving at the hospital, bags packed and nerves steeled, only to be told your operation is cancelled because your MRSA status is unknown….
